This year I’ve been working with The Ridge, a community interest company in my small town. We’ve been running a series of courses called the Plenty Project: these are composed of five classes in budgeting, nutrition and cooking, and are aimed at people with limited or no cooking skills who are working to a strict budget.
The final course was a pilot for a new programme we’re planning, which will see the classes taken into local primary schools. I held cooking sessions for a nine-year-old girl and boy and their parents, and we had a blast. I was then delighted when Fraser Stewart, who attended with his son, wrote a fantastic blog post reflecting on their experience in words and pictures.

And here’s the children’s final feast: egg muffins and filo baskets with fresh apple yoghurt and cherry-cocoa sauce
